It didn't take mom long to give Mike the boot. Veronica took over after two weeks of a "so-so" job.

City Girls
Well, last night was the Meals on Wheels fund raiser. A big event that raises millions each year for a great cause, feeding the elderly of San Francisco. Seated at our table was Irelands best known chef and hostess Dorina Allen. She and Mags had a great time and were able to catch up on the latest food trends back home.

Accident victim Martin mourned by thousands
Martin Creedon RIP

THOUSANDS of mourners filed through the funeral home in Newcastle West last Friday to mourn local farmer and craftsman, Martin Creedon, Ashgrove, who died in a tragic accident.
Mr Creedon, 44, had died on the previous Monday evening when he fell from a pony gig in which he was taking his two children for a countryside jaunt. It is understood that part of the harnassing broke and that the animal bolted.Having tried to control the animal and, at the same time, tending to the two boys, he fell as the gig struck a ditch. An ambulance, already on its way towards Newcastle West, was diverted by mobile telephone by a person who came upon the scene, and Mr Creedon was taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital, where he was placed on life support.A widespread sense of shock pervaded the district as news of the tragedy spread, and a stream of visitors called to the family home and to the house of Mr Creedon's mother, Ita, next door.As well as the huge crowds at the removal, the Church of the Immaculate Conception was filled to capacity for Saturday's Requiem Mass, at which eight priests concelebrated, with Fr Patrick Bluett, CC, as chief celebrant. Gardai brought the N21 to a halt as the cortege made its way to Churchtown cemetery. Many mourners chose to walk behind the hearse for the mile-long journey through the town.Mr Creedon had been one of a family of eight. A quiet and devoted family man, he was a skilled carpenter and woodworker. In recent times he had mostly confined himself to work on the family farm. The late Martin Creedon is survived by his wife, Lisa, nee Teskey of Reens; sons, Roman and Joshua; mother, Ita; his brothers, Tommy and John; sisters, Eilish, Helen, Noreen, Kathleen and Marie, and extended family.

Puppy Love

On Mother's Day we decided to go on a hike and check out an old gold mine in Pine Valley, but having the wrong directions, we weren't able to find it and so went to plan B.
Following a back road up to Mt. Laguna, we then got out of the car and followed the Pacific Crest trail on foot. Eventually the trail led to an old abandoned airforce base in the middle of nowhere.
Later on we found out that it had been there for early missle detection. My mom was happy and enjoyed her mother's day because she got to go exploring and hiking!
