Mike, Merry, & Dev's Seattle/Vancouver vacation

We went to Seattle for 3 days and then to Vancouver for 4. This was Deven first real trip and he did great. We were surprised at how well he did. We got fanastic weather, saw some amazing places, had great company, and had some good food. We did a bike ride around Stanley Park in Vancouver, around the seawall and it was one of the prettiest places I've ever seen. I highly recommend it to anyone.

They Said It

Last night Barb and I were sitting in the living room and I said to her, "I never want to live in some vegetative state, dependent on some machine and a bottle. If that happens, just pull the plug".

She got up, unplugged the computer and threw away my glass of vodka.

She's so hatefull........

IT'S A GIRL!

Can't tell from this shot, but trust it. We got it straight from Anne's mouth.

CONGRATULATIONS

So...

...I now have a blog too :) I'll still be posting pictures and updates on here, but there's this one as well. It's just about some of my random thoughts and what God is doing in my heart.

We rearranged the room!

Now we have much more space and the room is so much bigger! I've been able to hang up pictures that remind me of home :) I have the top bunk, so I've had to get over my fear of heights! But it's been really nice.

  • When you get right down to it, most people don't look good in bathing suits

Margaret Teskey, (President) Whether she’s cooking, planning a menu or entertaining, Margaret (Mags) Teskey is sure of one thing, she’s passionate about food. Originally from Ireland where sustainability in farming is simply ‘a way of life’ the transition to Northern California was an easy one. Mags started her career in Food & Wine at Ashford Castle Ireland & The Old Course Golf & Country Club St. Andrews Scotland, two of the most exclusive luxury hotels in the world. From there she immigrated to the United States and pursued her culinary efforts in the Sonoma wine country training under top chefs while perfecting much of what she learned at home. Following that she pursued Pastry with a notable San Francisco restaurant but always knew that nothing was more satisfying than a well planned, well executed party. Eight years ago she joined Taste Catering working under MeMe Pederson who taught her the art of bringing that well planned, well executed party to life. Her second passion, wine is noted in the expansion of the Taste wine cellar by introducing boutique and biodynamic wines. She brings her own personal style and vast knowledge of food & wine to her events while allowing her clients to express their own vision.

Here's...

...a picture of the entire girl's dorms building. I think the green grass is so beautiful! :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIE

POP'S TOP TEN

Jenny made it sound so easy, you know, Home-schooling. But after the first week Anne doesn't quite agree. She has her own rules. Pops gives us some of the things about Anne's first week with Regan

  • Grades will be based on how Regan behaves AFTER school
  • Instead of dissecting frogs, it's dissecting the chicken for dinner
  • She's buying Tums in bulk from Costco
  • A visit to professor Jim Beam's office after a long day
  • Let's Regan know there are extra credits for unloading the dishwasher
  • On a hunch, gave Regan the GED exam
  • Scheduled Parent-Teacher conferences every other night at 9
  • Praised Regan for tying for last place in the spelling bee
  • Constantly overheard saying out loud...."this would be a lot easier with a babysitter"
  • Her Home Economics class consists of : vacuuming the house; scrubbing the sinks, toilets and bathtub; unloading dryer; dusting and picking up Carson and Owen's room
  • Uniform ..... Chantella dress, Tiarra, wings and a wand

Welcome "Jackson William Feeney"

A bit more...

...here is the dorm for the girls. My room is situated on the back side of the building, kinda in the middle. The campus is pretty, with lots of grass and trees and flowers too.

One day, Hiromi and I did some studying outside. It's still been sunny, so we've been trying to enjoy that. So we brought a blanket out into the sunshine. Hiromi is a transfer student from Japan and I'm getting to know her really well!

The last picture is of Hiromi and Hannah (my roommate). They are who I've been getting to know the most.

A little update...

I apologize, I do not have pictures of the campus or my room or the people here...I will have to get around to that soon!

So far, classes and the work load hasn't been so bad, but please, do keep my in your prayers because I'm sure that day will come!!!

These pictures are from when Nathan came for a visit over Labor Day weekend. We went to a place called The Grotto, where there was a beautiful garden where we walked around and enjoyed the sunshine!

It's Not Easy Turning "48"

Take a number. Joe did, and when pops, Josh, Caleb, waited for more than 15 minutes for "90" to be called at Point Loma Seafoods Labor Day, Josh made the comment....."maybe we should take # 06, it's been called a dozen times". Finally the man behind the counter called out # 90. Joe's face was as red as Josh's hair used to be.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOE

Big Catch For Victoria & Dad
