Top Chef: Just Desserts season one victor Yigit Pura's is seen here with Jill Regan and Mags Teskey. First foray into retail pastry sales commences today with the opening of Tout Sweet Patisserie. Nestled into the third floor of Macy's flagship in Union Square, the cafe is outfitted in bright white with Charms candy-colored accents. Naturally, the major focal point of the shop is Pura's pastry case, filled with Nutella-stuffed sugar buns, croissants, pate de fruit, fresh-baked apricot scones and so much more. Dessert options abound, including layered panna cotta verrines, a host of macaron flavors (named for important people in Pura's life), cube cakes, cookies, tarts, and a Lady Gaga-inspired take on pate a choux, called Monster Paws.

Well hello all...We just wanted to send an update to all of our amazing family and friends to let you know that we have a new addition to our family. Nolan Isaiah joined us yesterday and we couldnt be more thrilled. The past couple of weeks have been a whirlwind..especially the past couple of days. But he is with us now and he is AMAZING!!! The girls are in love with him and he is constantly giggling and screeching with and at them. He is four months old and an absolute doll. By law, we are not allowed to give out much information regarding him or his birth parents but all we can say is that we feel blessed to have him for however long we get. We are hoping for the best,...an adoption, but at this point nothing is for sure other than that there is still a chance that he will go back to his bio parent . So we ask, once again, that you continue to lift us up in prayer. We are just begining this journey with him, and so far there has been alot of joy, but also alot of heartache. We ask that you pray for God's will in all of this and for things with the courts and judges to be fair and in our favor. We are so excited to introduce our little man to all of you. We are so grateful for all of the prayers, encouragement, gifts, clothing and all of the well wishes and support that we have received .We are so blessed. We will keep you all updated on our progress. In the meantime, PRAY!!! Love to all, Sam, Rebecca, Ella, Milynn, Charlotte and Nolan

It's the big weekend at the Farmer's market for Doug and Laguna Beach Apron Co. Pop's gives us the TOP TEN things to consider before buying one of the aprons.

  • "Will I be able to handle all the women?"
  • "Should I wear my racing helmet?"
  • "Have I explored all my other car apron options?"
  • "Should I just use an old towel?"
  • "Wasn't I saving my money for the Tote bag?"
  • "Should I wait for the going-out-of-business sale?"
  • "What apron would Jesus wear?'
  • "Will it appreciate in value?"
  • "Should I hold off and wait for the '57 Chevy Nomad apron?"
  • "With my belly, am I really apron material?"

Life in PDX is still dry as of now, but the Fall feeling is sweeping in as the trees show their first hints of color and the sky turns overcast. Two weeks of school have already gone by as I embark upon my Senior year at Multnomah University (Bible College). Everyone is asking me what I am going to do after I graduate, and answering that question is both exciting and intimidating, because these four years of my life have been planned out for me and I have not had to make to many big decisions. Right now I am looking into graduate schools that offer Masters of Arts in Teaching (MAT) programs. This, with an emphasis in Secondary Education and Social Science, would enable me to teach at the High School level in Oregon. Although I am trying to be planned and prepared for the end of school quickly approaching, my goal is to make the most of each moment and appreciate the blessings of each day. And wherever I end up, my goal is simply to live out a life of love and compassion, just as Jesus has loved me and displayed his compassion in my life. Also big news for me in the Port City is my wonderful girlfriend! We have been dating for three months now and we are excited for more months to come. Sarah is a 2012 Multnomah graduate - I met her my Freshman year, and for some absolutely ridiculous reason it took me three years to ask her out...but God has a better sense of timing than I could ever dream to understand. We enjoyed a summer of walks, bonfires, and sunsets, and now as I start school it looks like we are going to be more homework together than anything else, but I can't really think of anyone I would rather do homework with so...yeah. Anyways, I miss you all and please, please, please feel free to call me anytime (that I'm not in class): 619-772-7284.
