Easter Sunday at the Murrell's

We had an awesome Easter Sunday with about two hundred and fifty people attending the breakfast and service. It was great and worth all the work! Our band played several songs and despite the wind, all went well.

Here's a picture of some Pine Valley kids in our Bible study group that we have every Thursday night at our house. We are going through a book called "Don't Waste Your Life" by a guy named John Piper and enjoying it very much :)

THANKS SO MUCH

All of the entries are great. What's wonderful is that all of us can share in the fun of the postings. This is so much better than just emailing each other. Dad also got Doug started with a blog for mimi's kitchen; although it was slow going for Dad instructing Doug over the phone. If you want to access that one go to mimikitchen.blogspot.com (note: mimiskitchen was already taken). Have fun and let's see all your entries! mom

WHAT IS A GRANDPARENT?

TAKEN FROM PAPERS WRITTEN BY A CLASS OF 8-YEAR-OLDS
  • A grandfather is a man & a grandmother is a lady!
  • They can take their teeth and gums out
  • It's funny when they bend over, you hear gas and they blame it on the dog

EVERYONE NEEDS A FRIEND LIKE VAL

For my first blog entry, I thought I would introduce you to one of my dearest friends, Val. We met shortly after we had both just moved to the Garden Valley area. She and her husband, along with their two children, were involved with us at the church. While our husbands talked about ministry and deep theological issues, we shared parenting advice, encouraged each other from God's Word, marriage advice, recipes and fun homemaking ideas. Val is always encouraging, she has been a gift in my life. She came down for a visit last week and we created a designer patio. She and I made a table runner, five pillows and painted a potting table. It looks so cute and pulled all of my mismatched furniture together. We also found two hurricane lamps at a thrift store. The whole project came to $38. I can't wait to have dinner outside and enjoy our patio!

DEL DIOS HIGHWAY

On our way to see Aaron and Sephra this afternoon we decided to take Del Dios Highway. Mom & I were thinking of the fires just a few months back and were amazed to see the hills in splendor beauty with the assortment of wild flowers.
