Hi again from Portland! Well I finally got off campus and took the Max downtown. A couple friends and I went to Powell's Bookstore and just walked around the city. It was fun to just look around, but next weekend I want to go during the day so I can see what is around here!
Today I went to a Japanese church, they had a translator, but the worship songs were in Japanese, it was a different, but besides the language most everything was the same. The reason I went was because one of my classes is called World Christianity and it focuses on missions and Christianity in other cultures, so visiting churches of a different culture is required to get a feel of the differences.
For basketball we are doing a fund raiser for a certain tournament and for team shoes, so I have to sell subscriptions of ESPN magazine. It is 40$ for 2 years and you get two magazines a month. 30$ out of the 40$ goes to the school, so it's a pretty good deal, and ESPN puts out a quality magazine if you like sports magazines. So if anyone wants to purchase a subscription then let me know, and I will set it up! Thanks-Josh
P.S. Miss you all!!!

Hi From Multnomah!!!
Hi everyone! Well I made a blog(eugeneblogger2000), but if it's easier for me to just post stuff on here then I can do that, so let me know!
I'll just give you guys all a little update of what's going on and I'll start with basketball! First of all, I made the JV team, so that's good, kinda important, haha. My first game is going to be Nov. 3rd, and I have practices until then. Most of the guys on the team are very friendly and I've been able to become apart of the group quickly. So thats that.
As far as making friends, things have been great! The Lord has blessed me with some guys right next store(a couple rooms away) that are part of my dorm section, and they are just awesome. They love the Lord, love to laugh, and have really just shown that they will be there for me, even though we have only known each other a short time. My roommate is gone a lot, he has some other friends and he doesn't usually go to bed until 2am, so I don't see him very often. He is a cool guy though, he is quite when I'm trying to sleep and fairly understanding. Overall, we get along fine!
Classes are great, it amazing to be learning so much! Sometimes I find it challanging to take in all that I'm hearing in class, and to learn a lot through the home work. One annoying thing is that a lot of students take notes on their laptops, and while the teach is giving his lecture, they get on facebook, or look up their sports team, or email their girlfriend. Since I have the perspective of sitting behind and aside them I notice, but of course the teacher can't tell, but it's really the students loss. Wasting what they are paying for...
Anyways, things are good, you can be praying that I find a church, and that I will keep up on all my home work! Love you all!

80s night at Multnomah's all-school retreat...

We had a great time on our vacation. The setting was incredible. We kept thinking a gnome was going to jump out any minute. The house we rented had a dock so it was great for fishing and kayaking. Katie and Mac and the kids came over. I think Devens new best buddy is Joey. And we got to catch up with Josie and Peter at their beautiful home in Jenner.

POP'S TOP TEN
TOP TEN thoughts going through Shawn's mind on his first day at Odyssey
- Will the smell go away?
- Is it one or two "Y's" in Odyssey?
- Has it been eight hours yet?
- I did it! I did it! Oh, wait, it's only my driveway
- Maybe I should have sprung for those GPS underpants
- Time to start the bulk of my drinking around noon
- Maybe I should head home to beat the traffic
- Holy crap, I think I just saw the Grim Reaper!
- The only thing more satisfying than this......The garlic shrimp scampi at "Red Lobster"
- Has it been eight hours yet?
Tandem Team Of Russell & Delaney
If you haven't heard, Odyssey will never be the same. As of today, 9/9/09, Shawn and Annette will be taking the Grim Reaper to the "max" as maybe the first-ever husband and wife team at Odyssey Health Care. CONGRATULATIONS! tandem
