She'll Be Missed
Dorothy Meyer Depew, 94 Wife, Mother, Teacher, Realtor. ESCONDIDO -- Born Chicago, Illinois, October 23, 1916, Dorothy died in Pasadena, California, on Friday, January 28, 2011, at 94 years of age. Longtime resident of Pasadena and Escondido, California, she was the matriarch of eight children, ten grandchildren and eleven great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph; and daughter, Deborah. Dor was known for her charm, exuberance, and indomitable spirit. She warmly welcomed all who crossed her threshold, and her sparkle will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 3rd at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Altadena. A viewing and Rosary will be held prior to Mass at the church starting at 10 a.m. The church is located at 1879 Lake Avenue, Altadena. A graveside service and burial will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, February 4th at Oak Hill Cemetery, 2640 Glenridge Road in Escondido. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers, to Father Richard Thiele, c/o Joanne Braun, 10705 Cherry Hills Drive, Cherry Valley, Calif., 92223. Father Thiele is a Redemptorist Missionary working in Lagos, Nigeria. Arrangements are being handled by Cabot & Sons Funeral Directors in Pasadena, California.
