PDX Summer!
I can't exactly say that I have been soaking in the rays, but I have seen the sun a couple times this summer! And for a Portlander, that is pretty good. Really though, the summer has been wonderful, which might or might not relate to the fact that I don't have any "h-dub" (a.k.a. homework). I am living in an apartment with three other guys and we are all learning what it means to cook, clean, share a bathroom, have different sleeping schedules, and somehow remain friends. Ok, It is probably not dramatic to the point of losing friendships, but it is an interesting learning experience to share an apartment. I am thankful for the chance to grow, and am glad to say I have been growing in communication and compassion! Another blessing of staying up here this summer is my opportunity to serve at church. I have been a part of a small community church in Clackamas (20 minutes away) for over two-and-a-half years now but have never been here during the summer. We are trying to love the community we are planted in like Jesus loves them and right now that means loving the children of the community. Opening up the church and accepting and inviting them to play and learn with us has been our way of loving them. Pray we accomplish this well!
I am happy to say all is well in PDX, but I do miss ALL of you! -Josh
P.S. Here are a few pictures from family vacation at Lake Oroville!
