Miraculous Timing
On my second day in China, I made two friends who recently changed their names to Peter and Steven. Those names are not common here, you could say. They joined the Club a few months before I arrived, and about a week ago, they were both dunked under the water to show their new life: the washing away of the old self and the putting on of the new self.
They have taken me all over the city, including going to a Chinese “rock” concert and river rafting. We also went swimming at a pool, which we got kicked out of because my swim trunks went to my knees instead of being much shorter. Anyway, we have become great friends exploring the city and talking about our lives in Him.
These magnificent mountains surround a small community where I have been teaching English and basketball at the local school. Next week, my translator, the two buddies I mentioned above, and I will be putting on a basketball/English camp for three days. We and the students will be staying at the school so it will be an eventful three days!
This is a huge opportunity to serve the school leaders and the youth. The youth absolutely love basketball, even though they don’t have adequate footwear. They play barefoot just as good as anybody with shoes. Another important aspect of this camp is developing a network for a CHOSEN teacher at the school who is hoping to start the first Club in this town.
Thank you for your thoughts to the Boss!
