Dorm Section Retreat

My dorm section went on a retreat, this last week, to a small town called Dufur. Hannah's (my roommate) grandmother lives there and she was gracious enough to let us stay with her for a couple days. Being in the country again was a nice switch up from the hustle and bustle of living in Portland. The sun was out and so we spent most of Saturday outside, hiking around and then taking naps in the sunshine.

On Sunday, Iva (Hannah's grandma), took us all to church with her, where she proudly showed us off and introduced us to many people. She even introduced some of the girls to young men...it was pretty funny! The most interesting person we met was an elderly man who would strike up random conversations with us about whatever popped into his head. He even yodeled for us, which was amazing! He continued to yodel and talk to us until his wife come to get him. "These young people need to get going," she said as she gently smiled and took his arm. "Alright," he said, and then we hurried off with Iva before he could continue telling us about the college football games he had missed a while back.

This picture includes 7 out of the 11 girls in my dorm section. Unfortunatley, not everyone could make it, but for those who did, it turned out to be very restful.

Now we're ready to pull through and finish out the semester!
